The United States increases trademark registration fees

We are reporting changes that will take place beginning January 18, 2025.

1. The standard application fee will now be $350 per class.
2. Additional application changes include a new $200 fee for using the free-form field and an additional $200 fee for any product or service exceeding 1,000 characters.
3. A trademark filed with insufficient information will incur a new $100 penalty fee.
4. The USPTO is also increasing the maintenance, petition, and post-application filing fees.
5. The USPTO will eliminate TEAS Plus and TEAS Standard applications.
6. Beginning in 2025, the USPTO will launch a new application system.
7. Registrants will no longer have the option to choose between TEAS Plus and TEAS Standard applications.
8. Specimen Updates: Crackdown on Digitally Altered Use Specimens.
9. The USPTO will change the requirements for required evidence to demonstrate actual use in commerce.
10. The USPTO announced that it will launch expanded audits of Section 8 and Section 71 filings.
